Modern Cinema Group
Modern Cinema Group is dedicated to building infrastructure and tools for the media distribution partners of the future. Although the major paradigm shift has already begun with more people streaming content on-demand, the real winners have not made their appearance as of yet. These eventual winners are the providers of infrastructures (fiber and mobile) around the world.
No matter where you go in the world, the most popular content is always local and regional. Next is new blockbuster movies, TV shows and games. After that, foreign libraries (including Netflix and others) are gaining in popularity, however they are far behind in comparison.
As a parent company, Modern Cinema Group provides facilities not only for financing and distributing local, regional and blockbuster titles, Modern Cinema Group also empowers infrastructure providers with the systems and tools they need to monetize the motion picture content.
The companies that are wholly owned and operated by Modern Cinema Group are as follows:
Provides the financing and technology solutions that allow mobile operators to distribute high-resolution content by way of both streaming and multicasting over LTE cellular networks. MOCI Media is specifically focused on a technology called LTE Broadcasting (or LTE-B) that is making its appearance around the world today. LTE-B “Pre-Positioning” then allows content to be stored on mobile devices eliminating data charges and providing for much higher resolutions. Users can then play these downloaded content titles directly from their mobile devices at a later time. LTE-B “Pre-Positioning” is perfect for both “Live” events and major content releases that are provided to millions of people simultaneously.
As an extension to LTE-Broadcast “Pre-Positioning”, MOCI Media is introducing its LTE-B Metro systems that are installed in trains, buses, limousines and taxis. These become media “Hot-Spots” that offer numerous high-definition content titles that are routinely updated over the mobile network (allowing vehicles to get their updates without spending hours parked at a terminal). Internet access is also available not to mention the simultaneous use of popular apps (such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Line, Viber and others) while watching video content.
MOCI Media’s LTE-B Metro systems are expected to be launched in Indonesia and India in early 2018.
Channel Islands Systems
Channel Islands Systems is a hardware and software engineering company dedicated to building next-generation content distribution systems that are required by customers of Modern Cinema Group and MOCI Media. Over the last nine years, Channel Islands has developed virtually all systems and apps required to distribute high-resolution video over Mobile, Wifi, Cable, Satellite, Broadcast and IPTV networks.
In addition, Channel Islands has developed Next-Generation Advertising Systems including innovative advertising loyalty systems that will encourage users to watch more ads.
MOCI Productions provides motion picture production and content licensing functions specifically for customers of Modern Cinema Group.
MOCI Productions plans to start the processes for its first major motion picture before the end of 2017.
Zunhao Film Fund
The Zunhao Film Fund was established in 2014 within the Free-Trade located in Shanghai China to help manage funds for Modern Cinema Group’s Chinese co-productions. This film fund was established at a time when it was anticipated that these types of funds would eventually be closed to companies domiciled outside of China. Since China is now the largest market for filmed entertainment, and media investments in China are highly attractive to the numerous funds located within China, Modern Cinema Group is well positioned to either finance or co-finance productions that can be released in China without being subject to the Chinese quota system.
Modern Cinema Group plans to begin Chinese Co-Productions in early 2018.
